Booking Questions

How far in advance should I book my appointments?

There are no hard and fast rules here although to guarantee an appointment with the Stylist of your choice or at the date/time that works best for you we would say that sooner rather than later. When you finish an appointment We will always ask you if you would like to book your next appointment at that time.

Can I book appointments online?

Yes you can! Click on this link and follow the instructions or call the Salon and we can get you hooked up.

In case you didn't know we can also be contatced via Facebook messenger and also our email ( so if you are on the go and need to book and can't make a call then drop us a line using either of those! Tons of options!!

What is the cancellation policy for appointments?

We understand that things happen in the course of your day that force you to change plans. Please let us know if you need to change an appointment and we will absolutely do our best to move it to a mutually agreeable date and time. For the consideration of our stylists and clients on our waiting list, please notify us as soon as possible to cancel your appointment.

What if I am going to be late?

If you will be late for your appointment, please notify the salon as soon as possible. We will make every effort to accommodate your hair service however; the time allotted to your service may be restricted or rescheduled if you are more than 10 minutes late. Arriving late will lessen the value of your hair service and most importantly your pleasure and enjoyment.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Absolutely. Walk-ins, run-ins, roll-ins... any kind of -ins! When you pop in for an appointment we will do our best to accommodate you but depending how busy we are you may have to wait a bit. In the event we are too busy at that moment we will gladly book a later time so you can go about your busy day and come back later.

What is your salon like?

We love it! :-)

In all seriousness... we designed Wicked to be a stylish, upscale salon but we absolutely wanted the environment to be cozy and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and customer service is our number one priority.

We will greet you when you arrive, let you know how long it will be, offer you a coffee/tea/water and maybe a little chocolate! Our goal is to make you feel comfortable and happy. Take a look at the pictures in the gallery section or feel free to drop by and say hi!

Is there parking?

Tons. We are in a small mall with ample, free parking... unless you're driving a semi-truck or large bus then it may be a tight fit.

Can I bring my children in?

We love children. Absolutely bring them in and hopefully we can also cut their hair! :-)

The only thing we ask is that you mind that they don't run around the salon unattended; we have other customers who may want to read or relax while having their hair done and unattended little folks can be noisy.

Is the salon wheelchair accessible?

Absolutely. We adhere to all accessibility standards for Ontario.

Do I need to tip?

Tips, although greatly appreciated by the stylist, are completely at your discretion. If you wish to leave a tip, 15% is suggested, but always optional. Please do not feel obligated to tip every staff member that worked on you.

For your convenience, we do accept debit, credit and cash. If you leave a tip at the front desk, rest assured that the stylist is always informed as to who left it and will receive it promptly.

Product Questions

What products do you use?

We carry a variety of products. Our colour line is from L'Oreal Professional. Our retail product line is Pureology which is a luxury brand owned by L'Oreal. We also carry an assortment of professional, styling hardware.

Are these the same products you use on me when I get my hair washed at the salon?

Absolutely. Many salons use different, less expensive products when they shampoo/condition your hair in the salon. We believe the best way to show you the virtues of the products we sell is to let you experience how they feel. To this end we use Purology products at the back bar. We also have a variety of samples at the front desk so you can take some home and give it a try before you invest in a bottle.

Why do you use Pureology?

We love Purelogy. We picked it because we believe it is the best product on the market. We have tried a lot of different things over the years and Pureology's lines are consistently better then the competition.

Our goal is to bring you the best things we can. The best customer service, the best experience and the best products.

Do you have an ammonia free colour line?

YES! Our Inoa color is ammonia free. You can read more about it here or feel free to give a call or drop by and we'll answer any questions you may have.

Why do other salons have product names as part of their salon name?

There are a couple of ways salons acquire funding to help build and open their location. Some product companies gladly lend salons money to help them start up but this help comes with strings attached. These salons have to advertise the product names and also have to exclusively sell their brand. We wanted to make sure you had access to the best products on the market, not the ones with the lent us money to help build our business.

Will I get the 'hard sell' when I come into Wicked?

Absolutely not. We think our products are great and they are the best for maintaining the investment you make on your hair. Having said that we will not hard sell you. What we will promise to do is educate you as to the benefits of our products. We believe education is power but the decision is ultimately yours.

How often do you change products?

The short answer is when we need to. By that we mean that we are always keeping an eye out from 'best of breed' products to share with you. To date we haven't found any product line we like better than the ones we carry. L'Oreal and Pureology occasional make changes to their lines and we incorporate these changes in our retail line. But we are always looking for new and innovative products to carry for you or the special people in your life. Check back on a regular basis and you will see some cool new things in the near future.

Services Questions

I compared your prices to other salons and you seem more expensive than some?

A few words about pricing. We occasionally hear that we are more than some other salons. Our response to this is that we are also less than many other salons. Many places also do not offer the environment that we provide and therefore have MUCH lower overhead.

Just like any service industry not all salons are created equal. Generally you do get what you pay for. We LOVE doing hair and making you look great! We take great pride in the quality of the work we do, we use only high quality products and give you the attention you deserve.

We understand that it is not just about the cut or colour, it is the whole experience. We create positive experiences from the minute you enter our salon to the minute you leave, we don't just meet expectations we believe in exceeding them. From our free consultations, to your complimentary beverage to the total satisfaction guarantee, we believe you deserve the best.

We stand behind our pricing because we are not willing to sacrifice quality. You will notice a difference at Wicked Hair Salon and you won't be disappointed!

Why do you have different prices for the different levels?

At Wicked we have stylists with a wide range of experience and the price of their services will reflect this. We have structured our services in such a way as to make it affordable to everyone's pocket book.

I want extensions. What is the process?

No problem! We use only Crisace Extensions which are a high quality extensions made from only 100% AAA Remy Human Hair. They are attached with a microbead and fused onto your existing hair. If you would like to learn more about them please visit their website ( or feel free to give us a call.

The first thing you do is give us a call and schedule a consultation. This session is free and gives us the opportunity to discuss what you are looking for and how to achieve your goal. If you decide to proceed then we will place the order for the extensions. We do not carry these in stock as the extensions are very specific to your hair type. This will ensure a perfect match when we are done. At this point we will also require payment for the cost of the extensions for the same reason described above; The extensions are specific to you.

When the extensions arrive we will call you and schedule a session to install them. This is a lengthy process (no pun intended) and we typically allot 4 hours to do the installation. We require a Visa number to reserve this session. If you must reschedule, please give us at least 7 days notice otherwise we must charge your Visa $100 rescheduling fee. As you can imagine 4 hours is a large block of the day for one of our stylists and it hurts her commission if she is left without appointments during that time due to a last minute cancellation.

What is 100% AAA Remy Human Hair?

Remy Human Hair is the highest grade of real, human hair that is a preferred choice for hair extensions, hairpieces and wigs because it achieves the most natural look.

Remy Hair is considered to be the finest quality of human hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, like in most other non-Remy hair extensions. Preserving the hairs’ cuticles and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion creates extensions that are completely natural in appearance. This process ensures that the hair remains super soft, shiny, silky and completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Can I have the extensions installed somewhere else?

Absolutely. Once you pay for the extensions they are yours to keep. We prefer that you let us install them and we assure you we do an absolutely wonderful job... but if you need to go elsewhere, we understand :-(

Do you do bridal parties?

Yes... we would absolutely love to accommodate your special day. Based on the availability of our stylists, our Salon Coordinator will work with you to make sure we book you and your wedding party in for your appointments, doing our best to accommodate any special requests you might have. As you can appreciate the more time you give us the better our ability to accommodate your needs. A $100 deposit is required at the time of booking for a party of 5 or more and we ask for one week's notice for cancellations otherwise you forfeit the deposit.

We also recommend you come in for a free consultation and we offer you a special rate for a hair trial. This allows us to take the time to discuss what your expectations are prior to the big day as you will have a lot going on then.

Do you offer esthetics?

No. We did try it in our early days but we came to the realization that we wanted to only do something if we were great at it and not just good. There are many great nail and spa locations in Durham Region, and we can even recommend a few, but we shifted our focus to our one true love and that is your hair!

Payment Questions

What methods of payment do you take?

We accept Cash, Debit, VISA, Mastercard and our Gift Certificates.

Is tipping available on debit/credit?

You bet! You can tip using cash, credit or debit. Also rest assured that if you leave a tip, it will go to the person (or persons) that performed your service regardless of how you decide to pay.

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes sir/ma'am! We offer them all year round and you can load them with any amount your heart desires! We also occasionally have promotions where we will load them with some extra for you. Keep a look out on this website or on Facebook and Twitter for all of our monthly promotions.

Do you run Promotions or Specials?

Yessiree! On top of our monthly promotions we also have some other specials that you will find in our Promo section of this website (like the referral program). Do you donate to teams/events?

Whenever we can, and we think it is a good fit for our business, we do but... we get a lot of requests monthly and being a small business we can only do so much. Please do not take it personally.
